Activating GPS tracking on these cell phones requires a monthly subscription to the iFM web based GPS mapping service and packet data service from the wireless carrier.
iTRAKjava™ can be programmed to start automatically when the phone is powered on and then run in the background, allowing phone calls and Direct Connect calls to take place as usual. Anytime iTRAKjava™ is started or stopped on the handset, this information is reported to the iTRAK Fleet Manager™, allowing reports to be generated showing when a worker turned on or off the java application.

Designed for use with phones made with built-in GPS and java capability, iTRAKjava takes GPS tracking into the mainstream, providing affordable real-time tracking on iTRAK Fleet Manager, a web-based, easy-to-use tracking system. Subscribers can view maps displaying their fleet's movements using a standard web browser.
iTRAKjava automatically reports the phones location at the intervals you choose, based on any combination of time and/or distance traveled. Four User Selectable Modes
- Walk/Run Mode makes it suitable for personal tracking, such as for walking or hiking -for example this could be used for tracking children or a spouse for safety
- Sports Mode allows iTRAKjava to be used for tracking sports events, such as biking, motorcycling, skiing, snowmobiling, racing, etc. For example, a company using iTRAKjava on their corporate vehicles could also use their phones to sponsor charitable, staff or professional sporting events
- City Mode is the normal mode used by most business customers, with 1 mile position reporting and 2 minute stop reporting. These parameters can be adjusted to suit any requirement
- Highway Mode reduces the standard reporting interval to 10 mile reporting with 2 minute stops for long haul applications
Which Phones Will iTRAKjava Support?
iTRAKjava will operate with any Motorola iDEN phone that has both GPS and Java capability. These are the phones with Direct Connect (walkie talkie service) offered by Sprint/Nextel, Telus and Southern Linc. Current models supported include the i58, i88, i265, i325, i355, i560, i580, i605, i615, i670, i710, i730, i760, i830, i833, i850, i860, i870. Also supported are several Blackberry models (those with built-in GPS)offered my most North American cellular carriers.
